Toshiba has introduced their version of a tablet. It uses the Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core mobile processor. With it’s 16 GB internal memory, it is multifunctional. There are ports for the USB, mini-USB, a full-sized SD card reader, and HDMI ports. This tablet is Bluetooth ready and has Wi-Fi connectivity supporting Adobe Flash so you can watch video and movies.

It comes with a rubber back that is replaceable and comes in six different colors. (Black, Silver Sky, Lavender Bliss, Blue Moon, Green Apple, and Razberry Fusion) Besides the back plate in different colors, the accessory options that are available are a docking station, replaceable prismatic lithium battery, global AC adapter, touchscreen pen, neoprene sleeve, and a portfolio case, plus more.

The 10.1 inch multi-touch widescreen display uses Adaptive Display Technology, supporting 720p. A 2.0 Megapixal webcam is in the front and the rear has a 5.0 MP camera with autofocus.

When listening to music or any audio, it comes with stereo speakers with Toshiba sound enhancements.

Our Experience

It seemed a bit bulky, but it was reasonably priced. I like that I can replace the back with different colors and they weren’t that expensive, about $20. The battery life was good, but the good thing is that you can replace the battery. With other tablets, you have to send it back to get the battery replaced. Considering the batteries are good for about 2-3 years max. This could be an issue. The speed and sound were good. I watched a video and surfed the web (email, facebook, etc…) and didn’t have any buffering or slow loads.

Our Verdict

If thats what you’re looking for, then the toshiba tablet is a good choice. Great for a college student or someone on the go that doesn’t need a lot of features and storage. Bluetooth, camera, webcam,… all good.
